A body of work created over the period of a year using the process of deepening into the womb space and exploring the act of making from the body and not the head. This body of work explores the artist’s understanding of Womb Cosmology pre patriarchy and pre colonialism, from the imagined standpoint of the sacred feminine traditions of Neolithic times as unearthed by renowned archaeologist Maria Gimbutas. The collection is also a reference to and celebration of the artist’s own pregnancy over the duration of making the body of works for this show. The opening of the show featured a unique collaboration of live and improvised works in communication with the artworks on display between sound artist SHE spells doom and performance artists RootsAstray Dance.
